Each one of us needs a partner in life. Someone to share laughter with, someone to bond with, someone to hug, someone to love, and someone we actually see ourselves everyday. Other people feel so lucky to find their perfect match no farther than just a ride away. But what if the perfect person that you’ve been looking for lives miles away from you? 

The adventure in Internet chat rooms, online dating, and text messaging has triggered the popularity of long distance relationships. You might think it’s an impossible task and would never commit to a person who is very far away from you. But as one of the thousands of people who are trying to make long-distance relationships work, I can say that the quality of long-distance love affair is so much more beautiful than “personal” love. Yes, relationships from afar are not easy, and they sometimes don't work.  They can be stressful, emotionally exhausting, as well as down right painful. But is it not impossible if we really want to work things right and  when it works, you can be assured of a love that is true and lasting because long distance relationship focuses on the core of each person, which eventually develops into real intimacy

When I  meet him  (a saudi boy) online, 4 years ago  we agreed to go into this kind of relationship. Even if we both knew that were just having fun online coz chatting is just a part of releasing his homesick…. coz hes far from his family and i also want to have fun making new friends online. We both knew that distance could work against us. But we also knew that it can also work for us depending on how much we care about each other and making it work. Communication also plays a big role in our relationship. Whether long distance or not, we both believe that the key to a successful relationship is communication.

Because we cannot be with each other to express feelings and to be together physically, we consider communication (email, text messaging, long distance calls) as a vital element in our relationship. However we choose to spend our time communicating with each other. So, if you fall in love with someone who is very far, don’t let anyone ever discourage you by saying that you need to find someone who is near and that you can’t be in love with someone who is miles away, because frankly it isn’t true. If you truly love the person, then it doesn't matter how near or far you are. Love can go the greatest of all distances, and if you hold that to be true then you will experience a feeling greater than any feeling you have ever felt before. Relationships of any kind can be hard, as well as very rewarding. If you are in a long distance relationship or if your loved one lives near you, nurture your relationship as best as you can.  Nothing can make a person feel happier than knowing that they found the right person to spend the rest of their life with.
